Interceptor Enhancers

Interceptor enhancers feature the Smart Sponge® technology and are available in 3 sizes to be inserted into oil separators to dramatically reduce maintenance costs whilst increasing effectiveness - producing a recyclable solid waste.

Smart Gully Inserts

Smart gully inserts feature the Smart Sponge® technology and are available as a 300x300mm bag that is floated within a standard gully to remove oil contamination - producing a recyclable solid waste.

Bilge Skimmers

Bilge skimmers feature the Smart Sponge® technology which is engineered and designed for eliminating the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination which normally occurs during boat operations. The bilge skimmer will absorb the contaminant and allow the boater to discharge clean water from the bilge pump.

Smart Sponge® is a unique blend of polymers based on innovative polymer technologies that are chemically selective to hydrocarbons and uses its unique molecular structure to fully encapsulate oil and lock it into its structure preventing absorbed oil from ever leaching out.

Able to remove many times its own weight in oil or even very low levels of oil from water, it is also capable of removing sheen. In addition, the Smart Sponge® remains buoyant in both calm and agitated water, permitting it to remain in place until fully saturated and resulting in no wasted product. Once oil is absorbed, the Smart Sponge® transforms the pollutants into a stable solid for easy recycling, providing a closed-loop solution to water pollution.

Smart Sponge® technology provides a cost-effective BMP with low installation and maintenance labour costs. In comparison to other products, the Smart Sponge® technology also allows for less expensive and less problematic handling and disposal of the waste product since its technology transforms liquid oil and other pollutants into a stable solid. The Smart Sponge® was designed not to deteriorate in water, allowing for a longer product life.

The Smart Sponge® is also available as Smart Sponge® Plus, which features an antimicrobial agent chemically and permanently bound in a proprietary process to the Smart Sponge® polymer surface to remove many harmful pathogens such as E-coli, salmonella, legionnaires etc.
