I have been talking to a number of people recently who have all lost the plot when it comes to understanding what eco is all about, they’ve gone technology mad. They have been telling me all about their expensive renewable technology systems they are installing or about to. What’s wrong with that you might ask, well a lot if they haven’t installed the energy saving fundamentals first.

How little we need to do.

I recently went to the Zero Carbon Hub presentation of their findings to the industry, where they implied we can achieve zero carbon building by 2016. with modest reductions in U values and a slight increase in air tightness, whilst keeping brick and block cavity walls.

Burdens Environmental’s blogger Eco Joe is the founder of Ecomerchant which has now been added to Burdens portfolio of green businesses. Joe Wild (Eco Joe) found that whilst working as a builder surveyor in the late 90’s, obtaining information on Eco materials was difficult and sourcing the materials were even harder.
